Best breakfast in Sukhumvit: a local guide to mornings near Asok
Sukhumvit is where a lot of Bangkok lives and works, and breakfast here needs to fit around real days: a meeting at Asok, a school run, a slow Saturday. This guide covers what a good breakfast in Sukhumvit looks like, and how to make the most of a morning at The Deck on Soi 20.
Breakfast at Sukhumvit, without the traffic
Most of Sukhumvit Road is noise and heat by 9am. The side sois are where breakfast gets better. Soi 20 is a short walk from the BTS but quiet enough that you can hear yourself think, and The Deck has a shaded garden terrace plus an air-conditioned bistro, so you can choose your table by the weather.
When to come
Doors open at 7:30am every day. Before 10:30am the early bird set is ฿160++, which is the best value way to eat breakfast in Sukhumvit. Mid morning is laptop and meeting time. From late morning it turns into brunch, and breakfast keeps going until 2pm, so there is no race to order before the kitchen switches over.
