Group dinner in Bangkok: how to plan one that everyone enjoys
Organising a group dinner in Bangkok sounds simple until you try it. Someone is vegetarian, someone is coming from the other side of the city, and nobody wants to deal with the bill at the end. This guide covers how to plan a group dinner that works, and how The Deck on Sukhumvit Soi 20 makes it easy.
1. Pick somewhere everyone can reach
In Bangkok, location decides who turns up. Near the BTS or MRT is best. The Deck is a five minute walk from BTS Asok exit 6 and close to MRT Sukhumvit, with some onsite and street parking and hotel car parks nearby for anyone driving.
2. Choose a menu that covers everyone
Mixed groups need choice. Our menu covers Western favourites and Thai dishes, with vegetarian and vegan options, so nobody is left ordering a side salad. For bigger groups we can set up a buffet with Asian, Western and international food instead.
3. Sort the bill before you sit down
The quickest way to ruin a group dinner is a 20 minute argument over the bill. For group bookings of 11 to 30 guests at The Deck, you can choose master billing on one tab or individual tabs for each guest. Decide when you book and nobody has to do maths at the table.
4. Think about drinks
If the group is drinking, a package keeps it simple. At weekends the weekend free flow runs 11am to 4pm from ฿699++. For larger evening groups, free-flow function packages start at ฿680++ per person.
5. Indoor or outdoor?
The garden terrace is perfect for evening drinks under the trees. If it rains or the night runs late, there is covered space inside and the Upper Deck. Tell us your numbers and we will set the right space.
